Gordon Ramsay’s Wife: The Untold Truth About Gordon Ramsay’s Wife Tana

GORDON RAMSAY is a world-famous chef with a fiery temper and a penchant for swearing. But do you know the woman who’s always by his side?
Gordon Ramsay is a British chef whose restaurants have been awarded a total of 16 Michelin stars. He’s also known as a reality TV personality. But what are the untold facts about Mr Ramsay’s wife of 22 years, a trained teacher and mother of his five children?

Gordon Ramsay married his wife, Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson, a Montessori-trained teacher, nicknamed Tana, in 1996.

The couple currently split their time between Wandsworth in London and Los Angeles.

Mr Ramsay has previously confessed to the difficulties he had taking Tana out on dates while they were dating because he was working 15-hour days in the kitchen to build his career.

But the couple have remained strong over the years, reportedly thanks to her ability to calm the nerves of TV’s fiercest chef.

Who is Tana Ramsay?

Tana Ramsay, 45, was born in Croydon, Surrey, and grew up on a farm in Kent.

Her father was a businessman and Tana worked for him before she pursued a career in education.

When talking about her childhood, Mrs Ramsay often recalls fond memories of her childhood, especially of her mother, who she says loved to cook and was always in the kitchen.

At 16, Tana moved to London, where she studied for her A Levels and began training to become a teacher.

She would go to college to study the Montessori education system and work at “Le Pont de la Tour”, a famous restaurant in London at night.

Tana first met Mr. Ramsay in 1992 when she was actually dating one of his best friends, the head chef at Le Pont de la Tour.

It is said that she found him quite arrogant when she first met him, but when she met him a second time, at an apartment where she was staying with a friend, he convinced her to go out with him, and they officially started dating.

The couple married in December 1996 and went to Hawaii for their honeymoon, which turned out to be quite dramatic when the airline lost all of their luggage, forcing them to wear the same clothes for a week on their honeymoon.

Gordon and Tana have faced a number of difficulties over the years, including struggling to conceive after Tana was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and Mr Ramsay was found to have a very low sperm count.

The couple discussed their desire to have children early in their relationship and as a result, their difficulties were catastrophic.

However, they underwent IVF treatment and had their eldest child Megan in 1998.

They then had twins Holly and Jack two years later, followed by Matilda two years later.

The couple revealed they were expecting their fifth child in 2016, but unfortunately Tana suffered a miscarriage at five months pregnant.

Following their tragic loss, the couple set up a foundation called the Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation, which works with hospitals to support children who have been hospitalised for long periods of time.

The Ramsays welcomed their fifth child, Oscar James Ramsay, three years after losing their son.

The family may have seemed perfect, but years of cheating allegations have rocked their marriage, even as the families involved have vehemently denied them.

Tana’s marriage was hit by such allegations when in 2008 a woman named “Sarah Symonds” claimed to have had an affair with Gordon for seven years.

Sarah Symonds was a professional mistress who claimed to have met the celebrity chef in 2001 at a London nightclub.

Mr Ramsay has denied the rumours and denied the allegations.

Around the same time the allegations emerged, Tana discovered that her father had a secret family with two children.

Her father was then jailed for six months in 2017 after being convicted of hacking into Forn Ramsay’s email account between 2010 and 2011.

Until 2010, Mr Ramsay’s father-in-law Chris Hutcheson was in charge of running the business of Mr Ramsay’s restaurant empire.

He was convicted of embezzling more than £1.4m from the company.

But the couple have remained close despite the challenges and will celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary this year.
