Guess which Cosby Show legend was in Black Panther when his co-star accidentally let his name slip?
Black Panther’s roster already looks pretty epic with the likes of Angela Basset, Forest Whitaker and Creed’s Michael B Johnson. Of course, Captain America: Civil War star Martin Freeman will also return as counterterrorism commander, Everett Ross.
A recent addition to the roster is Sterling K Brown as N’Jobu
The actor is starring in up-and-coming show This Is Us and just won an Emmy for his work on The People v OJ Simpson but has just put his foot down at the awards by revealing another member of Black Panther is being kept secret.
In an interview with The Undefeated, he talked about the incredible caliber of stars he’ll be working with in the upcoming Marvel adventure.
Brown said: “I just worked with Chad (Boseman) on a movie called Marshall, about Thurgood Marshall. He’s such a talented and deeply spiritual man. He’s the perfect character to live up to.” complete with T’Challa.
“So to reunite with him and work with Oscar winners… to be with Michael B. Jordan after the incredible work he did on Creed. Danai Gurira, Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker, what a shame. I’m good at what I do – I’m not trying to be falsely modest – but, ‘Wow, I get to be with all of you?’”
Among those names is the hugely admired actress Rashad, most famous for her role on The Cosby Show.
Apparently, Brown should not have mentioned her yet because the post was soon edited and her name was removed.
Naturally, nothing has disappeared from the internet and fan sites are focusing on who she could be playing.
Since the film doesn’t come out until next year, little is known about the film’s plot or what each character will do. The lineup also includes Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia and a rumored appearance by Andy Serkis.
Brown’s enthusiasm was infectious as the film marked a new era in Hollywood as the first major blockbuster or superhero film of any genre with a predominantly black cast .
