Daniel identified Heather’s body at the morgue, leaving him grieving and questioning the circumstances of her death, while Sharon is the obvious suspect and her mental health is deteriorating.
On the October 2 episode of The Young and the Restless, Daniel got a call that a fisherman had found Heather’s body. While he didn’t believe it, he went to the morgue. Unfortunately for him, when the sheet came off, it was Heather lying there, dead. Now what?
Grief And Mystery
Unless Heather (Vail Bloom — who talked about Heather’s fate) had a secret twin out there somewhere, which we know could happen in soaps, but it seems unlikely, then Heather is dead. Unless, of course, this is all in Sharon’s (Sharon Case) mind, but it seems awfully detailed. So, let’s presume it’s not in Sharon’s mind, and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) really did identify Heather’s body.
Of course, the first thing he’ll have to do is tell his family. Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) will be devastated, and we could see Daniel relying on help from Summer (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) with his grieving teenage daughter.
The obvious suspect is Sharon. Plus, Sharon thinks she killed Heather. Is that truly what happened? Maybe, but she blacked out and doesn’t remember. Could Heather have died accidentally? Could somebody else have snuck in to kill Heather? Or, if it was Sharon, she could always use the insanity defense. After all, it’s not at all mentally healthy to hallucinate Cameron (Linden Ashby) — the man she killed.
Of course, considering Sharon is still off the rails, Daniel had probably better watch his back. Cameron is still pushing Sharon to kill Daniel. Sharon’s resisting, but how long will she be able to? We could see this whole thing ending up in a huge Phyllis/Sharon showdown before it’s all over. It’ll have huge implications for Nick (Joshua Morrow), too, because it brings in all his children.
What do you think of Daniel identifying Heather’s body today? Are things really as they seem? Or is this all just misdirection? Let us know in the comments below.
