How often will Sofia Pernas appear on the show?

Pernas made a lasting impression after appearing in just one episode as Colter’s rival Billie. Fortunately, Hartley has made it clear that Pernas will be back for more from here.

“She’ll definitely be back. We have some pretty exciting stuff for her to do next year,” Hartley told Deadline in May 2024. “She’ll be back multiple times next year. We’ve built a really great group of actors [who] hopefully will be ready to come back, because we’d love to do more with them. We have a lot of stories to tell with all of [them].”

Hartley later discussed his excitement about working with Pernas, telling Us in July 2024, “She’s amazing. I mean, if I had the choice, I would spend every minute with her. … She elevates the scenes, and she really makes my job easier. But yeah, working with her is amazing.”

The actor also weighed in on Colter and Billie’s relationship. “There’s a little bit of animosity, but it’s also like, ‘Are they going to patch things up? Aren’t they? You know, can you trust her? I don’t know if you can,’” Hartley continued. “I mean, she hasn’t proven that you can trust her, that Colter can trust her. So we’ll see how that plays out. There’s just a lot of, you know, a lot of room to work with that relationship.”

Looking Back at Our Favorite Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas 'Tracker' Scenes Before Season 2 Return

That same month, Hartley told The Hollywood Reporter that his favorite episode of season 1 was the one featuring Pernas.

How does the season 1 finale set up Colter’s story from here?
As the first season ends, there are a few connections: Colter gets more information about his father’s mysterious murder, his friend Lizzie reveals that her mother had an affair with Colter’s father and that their parents argued before he died, and then Lizzie finds a box her mother hid that was filled with Colter’s father’s work. Lizzie tells Colter that she gave the items to his sister, Dory, who has never mentioned him.

Hartley weighed in on where the story goes from here, telling Deadline in May 2024, “We have another season to shoot and we have to do better than Season 1. So while we want all those storylines to be wrapped up, we also want those bows to lead to other questions—bigger, deeper questions—about his past. So I think we did that in answering some of the questions that we’ve been building up over the course of the year. I think we did a good job of making sure that the answers to those questions lead to a bigger mystery, something that we can unpack in season 2.” The actor confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that season 2 will feature a time jump of several months.
