On The Young and the Restless, the Newmans, Abbotts, and Winters families are gearing up for Christmas celebrations, but with New Year’s Eve almost here, some will be letting down their guards and ringing in midnight on the town.
With two crazed ex-cons hell-bent on revenge in town, is everyone safe? Or will there be collateral damage along Ian Ward’s (Ray Wise) and Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) path to destruction?
Ian Ward’s vendetta on The Young and the Restless
Ian has a long track record of coming after the Newmans. Starting from when Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Paul (Doug Davidson) were teenage members of Ian’s cult. After Nikki was assaulted by Ian, she thought he was the father of her baby, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), but Paul ended up being the father. They didn’t know it until many years later, after Ian was humiliated by Nikki’s diary being read in court, which made him out to be the monster he was, and also when it was revealed that he was sterile and couldn’t be Dylan’s father.
Ian also raised Mariah (Camryn Grimes) in his cult after he’d ordered her to be stolen from Sharon at birth (and Sharon didn’t even know she had twins until after Cassie died). At one point, Ian tried to team up with Adam (Mark Grossman) to take down Victor, which resulted in the crash and burn of Newman Tower. He kidnapped Nikki, almost had Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) killed, and tried to lure Summer (Allison Lanier) into his cult at one point.
Despite his decades of hatred toward Nikki and her family, most of his crimes involve either using various Newman family members or extensions thereof to help hurt the Newmans, usually in the pocketbook. His cunning smile was enough to infuriate Victor, but knowing what Ian did to Nikki when she was young is something Victor will never forgive.
Jordan’s a killer, though
Ian’s new-ish girlfriend, on the other hand, is a straight-up killer. While she has only been on The Young and the Restless for just over a year, Jordan has made her way to legendary villain status on the show. Wanting to avenge Victor (Eric Braeden) for breaking her sister’s heart decades ago, Jordan kidnapped Claire (Hayley Erin) at birth and let Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Cole (J. Eddie Peck) believe she died. She raised her to hate the Newmans and, when she was old enough, got her to infiltrate Nikki as her assistant at Newman Media and lure her to Jordan’s house.
There, Jordan tried to kill Victor, Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Nikki. She didn’t succeed, but they wouldn’t have been her only victims. Unlike her boyfriend, Ian, Jordan doesn’t mind being the one who gets blood on her hands.
From what we have seen, Jordan also killed Seth (Brian Gaskill), Nikki’s AA sponsor, lit Victoria’s house on fire, kidnapped Claire and Harrison (Redding Munsell), tried to kill Phyllis by running her off the road, and…most likely…killed Heather (Vail Bloom).
