‘I’m not good at it’: Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay reveals why he wasn’t in the delivery room when his first four children were born… and why he wishes he wasn’t in the delivery room when his fifth was born
Gordon Ramsay welcomed son Oscar in April last year, more than 17 years after his fourth child was born.
But the 53-year-old celebrity wished he hadn’t been there for the occasion, after not wearing a maternity suit when his other four children were born.
Although his wife Tana, 45, had previously banned him from the delivery room for his previous four births, she eventually gave in to his pleas to see Oscar born. Despite his notorious temper, Gordon told Women’s Weekly that he fainted for the first time in his life, just as a nurse was trying to hand him his newborn son.
Gordon and his wife, cookbook author Tana Ramsay, 45, married in 1996.
Little Oscar joins the couple’s children, Megan, 22, twins Holly and Jack, 20, and Matilda, 18.
It comes after the Masterchef judge told Perth Now in January that his son Oscar had said his first words at a recent meal – and they were very colourful indeed.
‘He had solids for the first time, but he spit them out within three seconds,’ Gordon told the paper.
‘And I think the words that came out of your mouth were ‘disgusting!'” he added humorously.
Gordon is known for his liberal use of swear words, and on Tuesday’s episode of MasterChef Australia he let loose with an expletive.
The chef was furious with contestants Ben Milbourne and Chris Badenoch over the way they handled his pork.
‘Ben, why is he cutting the pork, when it’s so dry in a second? Stop cutting the pork!’ he raged.
