Olympic champion Adam Peaty has opened up about the life-changing impact Gordon Ramsay had on his personal and professional life.
This low point was compounded by his split from the mother of his child, leading to what he described as “three years of hell”. But Adam’s fortunes took a turn for the better when he struck up a romance with Holly Ramsay, daughter of the famous chef Gordon Ramsay. In a candid interview with The Sunday Times in April 2024, Adam praised Gordon’s mentorship and formidable work ethic. He revealed: “He is an incredible energy to be around and an incredible person to have that guidance from. Gordon is a high performer.” The Olympic swimmer has credited celebrity chef with inspiring his no-nonsense approach to professional training and mindset.
He went on to speak about how Gordon’s influence reshaped his views on daily commitment to his sport, adding, “So, when I see that, I’m like, ‘Yeah, why can’t I work like this? Why can’t I do this every single day? Why do I have to be so emotionally engaged with things? ‘”.
