Is Virgin River season 6 out?

Are you a Virgin River super-fan who’s constantly checking up on the status of the show? Welcome to the club! There are a bunch of other people just like you—including Ree Drummond who can’t get enough of the Netflix series. This isn’t anything to be ashamed of, though. In fact, it’s to be expected! When a show gives us plenty of romance and couples to root for, as well as drama and cliffhangers, we’re going to continue to want more. So, the fact that we know Virgin River season 6 is returning is enough to raise our spirits for the foreseeable future.

After leaving us with plenty of questions after the season 5 part 2 finale, we weren’t surprised that Virgin River was confirmed for season 6. But it wasn’t until recently that we got word that the cast was finally on set filming for the upcoming season. And to top it off, news of a potential prequel series was also released! Our romantic, drama-loving hearts are filled to the brim with joy knowing that we’re going to be able to dive right in. Eventually, that is.

While we don’t know the exact date that Virgin River season 6 will premiere, according Deadline, we may have to wait until 2025! Luckily, there’s been a recent update regarding the production of the show. (More on that below!)

An official plot has not been confirmed at this time. However, the Netflix series is based on the book series of the same name by Robyn Carr. So if you’ve read the books, you may have a better idea of the general direction.

However, show runner Patrick Sean Smith spoke with Deadline revealing a bit of what’s to come. For one, there will be a noticeable time jump in season 6, according to Smith. A lot happened in the season 5 part 2 finale, so we’ re interested to see how they navigate this! But in even bigger news, he not only hinted at more Mel and Jack content, but also confirmed that there will be a wedding happening (potentially more than one, we just don’t know with who yet), and some memorable villains are expected to return!
