It’s a ‘Magnum, P.I.’ Reunion on ‘Blue Bloods’

It’s been 35 years since the original Magnum, P.I. went off the air, but now there’s a reunion of two of the remaining cast members when Larry Manetti, who played Orville ‘Rick’ Wright, guest stars on Blue Bloods.

The news was broken by Donnie Wahlberg on his Instagram today, posting a photo of the Reagan family—Danny (Wahlberg), Sean (Andrew Terraciano), Erin (Bridget Moynahan), Eddie (Vanessa Ray), Frank (Selleck), Jamie (Will Estes), and Henry (Len Cariou)—with Manetti in the center.
CBS has yet to release tune-in information for the episode, so who Manetti is playing has yet to be revealed. But the fact that Terraciano is in the photo may mean that Manetti’s character will get the rare invitation extended to non-family members to Sunday dinner since that’s where the majority of Terraciano’s scenes take place.

Here’s a look at Selleck and Manetti from the set of Magnum, P.I. back in 1986, with Magnum’s trademark Hawaiian shirt and mustache.
Mosley, who played Theodore “T.C.” Calvin on Magnum, died last August 7 at the age of 83 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Hillerman, who played Higgins, died of cardiovascular disease at his Houston home, at the age of 84, on November 9, 2017.
