Jensen Ackles will guest star on the CBS drama series “Tracker.”

Lead actor Justin Hartley revealed the news in a video posted to his official Instagram. In the video, Hartley revealed that they have found the “perfect casting choice” to play Russell Shaw, the estranged brother of Hartley’s character Colter Shaw. As the video ends, Hartley turns the camera to reveal Ackles on the set of the show.

Ackles will appear in the episode airing on May 12. In the episode, Russell enlists Colter’s help in tracking down an old friend from the military. “Tracker” has four episodes left in its first season and has already been renewed for another episode.

Ackles is, of course, best known for his starring role on the long-running series “Supernatural” alongside Jared Padalecki. The show aired for 15 seasons, first on The WB and then on The CW. Ackles later executive produced and narrated the prequel series “The Winchesters,” which aired for one season. Ackles most recently appeared in Season 3 of Amazon’s hit series “The Boys” as Soldier Boy, a role he reprised in the spinoff “Gen V.” He also recently appeared on ABC’s “Big Sky” and made a cameo appearance on The CW’s “Walker,” which starred Padalecki.

Ackles is repped by Gersh and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
