Landman Release Date Revealed, Yellowstone Creator’s New Paramount+ Show Confirms Season 1 Length
The upcoming Paramount+ show Landman has now received its release date and confirmed the length of season 1. Adapted from the Christian Wallace podcast Boomtown, Landman is the latest Western series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Landman explores the story of a Texas town’s interaction with the oil industry, chronicling the tales of everyone from oil tycoons to those working on dangerous oil rigs.
Per Deadline, Landman has now received a release date and season information. Landman will be coming to Paramount+ on Sunday, November 17. In addition to the release date, the length of Landman season 1 has also been revealed. The debut season will span 10 episodes. Said episodes will be available on a weekly basis on Sundays starting on the 17th. No further details about Landman’s plot or episode content were revealed in this update.
How Landman’s Release Will Coincide With Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2
Yellowstone Will Help Boost Landman
The Landman release date and season length update comes after some images from the set were recently released. These photos included snapshots of leads Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, and Billy Bob Thornton, as well as supporting actors Rylie Rodriguez, Dani Raen, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Colm Feore, Michelle Randolph, and Kayla Wallace. The stills range from an austere look at Hamm’s oil baron character Monty Miller with his wife Cami (Moore) to images at the dangerous oil fields to more benign looks at the Miller family.
Landman’s release date will make it such that the series overlaps with the release of Yellowstone season 5, part 2. As of now, the end of Yellowstone is set to kick off on Sunday, November 10 at 8pm on the Paramount Network, one week before the release of Landman. While their premieres are separated, giving Landman time to flourish on its own, the runs of Yellowstone season 5 and Landman season 1 will be largely concurrent. This makes for a busy fall for Sheridan, who will dominate the TV landscape as 2024 comes to a close.
The synchronous releases of Landman and Yellowstone could go on to help both series. Both releasing on Sundays, the two shows could even be treated as a double feature as their episodes release. After all, both series are Sheridan-led and exist in the Western genre, drawing a similar audience. The release of Yellowstone will also help drive up views for Landman because it can publicize the new series that may have otherwise struggled to gain traction during its initial release. Time will tell as Landman fast approaches its end-of-2024 release window.
