Love Is Blind: Habibi is the latest spin-off of the popular dating experiment Love Is Blind, where Arabic men and women look for love in the pods. The reality show premiered on October 10 and presented ample drama, fights, affection, and conflict, making it a must-watch. It was hosted by the celebrity couple Khalid Saqer and Elhma Ali. Love Is Blind: Habibi cast members came from different countries in the Middle East and North Africa, including Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morrocco, and more.
The series differed from the American version of Love Is Blind, with the creators emphasizing showcasing Arabic culture. That included respecting the cultural aspects and norms, as they had the female and male cast members stay in different quarters and only interact during the day. Many suitors were presented in Love Is Blind: Habibi, but only six couples made it through the experiment’s first phase. Here are the cast members who got engaged on Love Is Blind: Habibi.
Khatab Hindi & Asma Sami
Their Love Is Blind Experiment Was Interesting
Khatab Hindi and Asma Sami had one of the most unique journeys on the show. The two got along from their first interaction in the pods. Khatab, a DJ, architect, and music producer, was curious to know more about Asma, an entrepreneur and marketing manager. Asma had briefly connected with Mohamed Gahed and Karim but chose to pursue her connection with Khatab. However, after he told her about his weight, Asma doubted her decision to be with Khatab. While in the pods, Asma had expressed her desire to find an athletic partner.
Khatab’s weight shocked the Love Is Blind: Habibi star after the two got engaged and met for the first time. They parted ways and didn’t join the other couples for the holiday. Luckily, that wasn’t the end of the couple’s journey in Love Is Blind: Habibi. Khatab and Asma joined the rest of the people halfway through their vacation. As fate would have it, the duo stumbled upon another challenge – family resistance.
Asma’s family opposed the idea of them getting married, as they hadn’t known each other for long. Still, Asma and Khatab didn’t give up on love and walked down the aisle. Asma’s parents didn’t attend the ceremony, which might have contributed to her decision to say no at the altar.
Mohamed “Mido” Gahed & Nour El Hajj
Their Personalities Clashed
After facing rejection from Chafic Yactine, Nour El Hajj quickly connected with Mohamed Gahed. In the beginning, Mido confided in Nour that others were looking at the Love Is Blind experiment like a competition, but he saw being on the show as making a life-changing commitment. Impressed, Nour expressed her interest in him, stating they had a chance to create a long-lasting relationship.
It didn’t take long before Mido proposed to Nour, a request she gladly accepted. Nonetheless, their issues surfaced as soon as the two went on a holiday with the other couple. Mido felt that Nour was self-centered, overly focused on her looks, and hardly gave him any attention. It created signs of insecurity as he started believing Nour wasn’t happy with his physical appearance. The couple seemed incompatible and showed no signs of affection.
Things got worse when Nour started chatting with Chafic, who she connected with in the pods, creating more insecurities from Mido’s side. Eventually, Mido left the retreat, leading to their breakup. In Love Is Blind: Habibi episode 7, Mido revealed he’d met a gorgeous Egyptian girl when they met during the couples’ gathering. Nour felt that Mido made up that story to make her jealous. The two haven’t reconnected since.
Safa Al Juboori & Mohammad Alkiswani
They Were Perfect For Each Other
Mohammad Alkiswani and Safa Al Juboori had the smoothest experience on Love Is Blind: Habibi despite a few hiccups. They had a lot in common, and Safa said her dad and soon-to-be husband shared the same names. Safa felt secure with Mohammad, and she even told him about some of her deepest insecurities, including being bullied.
Mohammad was understanding and comforting enough, and when he proposed to Safa, it was an emotional moment for the lovebirds, with Safa expressing her desire to be with him (via Netflix). Their time at the holiday resort was perfect. Mohammad introduced Safa to his family. Later, they began discussing their future together. Although Safa’s busy schedule initially took him aback, he understood how much her job meant to her.
The best thing about this pair is that each was willing to compromise, with Safa committing to adjusting her schedule to accommodate him. While Safa was afraid of introducing Mohammad to her family, they received him with open arms. On their wedding day, there was no doubt they’d both say yes. The Love Is Blind: Habibi couple is most likely enjoying life as newlyweds.
Chafic Yachtie & Dounia Allbrahim
They Broke Up
Chafic Yachtie and Dounia Allbrahim were among the first couples to connect during their time on Love Is Blind: Habibi pods. Nevertheless, Chacific had charmed other women in the pods, Nour and Hajar Asli- thus becoming the topic of discussion in the women’s quarters for his playboy tendencies. Yet, Chafic chose Dounia. They proved love needed honesty and respect to thrive.
The Love Is Blind: Habibi couple opened up to one another, laughed, and ultimately fell more in love upon meeting. Nevertheless, as the duo spent more time together, Dounia admitted that Chafic’s jealousy was tough to deal with, making her question how they’d live together. Dounia felt envious when Chafic started getting close to Nour, whom they had connected on Instagram before getting on the show.
Still, Nour and Chafic managed to address their issues. Their families were positive about their union, but Chafic felt Dounia wasn’t fully invested in the preparations as the wedding day approached. Ultimately, Dounia revealed they had both agreed not to proceed with the wedding plans and parted ways. Based on their social media profiles, the Love is Blind couple didn’t keep in touch.
Ammar Zam & Karma Ben Messaoud
They Clashed On Life Choices
Although Ammar and Karma initially had a strong connection, it fizzed out faster than anyone would have thought. Their challenges were too many, and this couple broke up before getting to the altar. Their major problems stemmed from the differences Ammar and Karma had in their career choices and personal values. Ammar was uncomfortable with Karma’s passion for belly dancing, and their real-world differences became a challenge. Before getting into the Love Is Blind pods, Ammar told the cameras:
“I am more on a classic side. If a girl wants to get married, she should give her time to her partner or husband.”
On the other hand, Karma was looking for someone who could handle her strong personality. After meeting one another, Ammar expressed he didn’t like how Karma behaved in front of other men. Love Is Blind: Habibi reached an end when Ammar told her not to pursue an acting or dancing career. This prompted Karma to call off their engagement in Love Is Blind: Habibi episode 6.
Mohamed “Simo” Naarollah & Hajar Asli
The Moroccan Love Affair
Mohamed “Simo” Naarollah was among the Arab singles vying for love in Love Is Blind: Habibi. Hajar and Simo were among the couples that connected, got engaged, and went on vacation together. However, their relationship was flawed from the start. From early on, Simo presented his strong opinions on how women should behave and talk to their men. It was one of the reasons the two got into a heated conversation after Hajar spoke about her wishes for a bachelorette party.
She desired to do something crazy, and she used the example of wanting to taste a cake before going on a diet, leaving a bad taste in Simo’s mouth. Simo claimed this was not part of his values and termed the desire “low level.” Although she realized her mistakes, and they mended their differences, the Love Is Blind: Habibi pairing bickered a lot, leading to Simo leaving the retreat without telling Hajar.
