Love Is Blind season 7 alum Hannah Jiles has been labeled as the biggest franchise villain ever, but that might not stop her from appearing in future reality TV shows like Perfect Match. Hannah found herself in a love quadrangle between Leo Braudy and his connection with Brittany Wisniewski, and her connection with Nick Dorka. Hannah came onto Love Is Blind season 7 after quitting her job in Medical Device Sales to appear on the show. The 27-year-old told her suitors about how she was a cheerleader in high school and the kind of girl who would date football players.
The West Virginia native chose Nick after considering pursuing Leo. In the pods, “Slick Nick’s” way with words and his charisma put off most of the ladies, but Hannah was both scared and drawn to it. On the vacation, Hannah wrote out a list of all her concerns about Nick, and she gave him “the ick” when he engaged in a seahorse race with a female resort patron. Nick and Hannah met each other’s families, but Hannah continued to criticize Nick into submission, and ultimately broke things off with him, but not before solidifying her villain status.
Hannah Was Too Immature For Love Is Blind
She Was The Youngest Season 7 Cast Member
Hannah was the youngest Love Is Blind season 7 cast member. Only two other participants, including Nick, were under 30 years old. Not only was Hannah the youngest cast member in age, but she was also the most immature. Hannah showed her immaturity by trying to give away ideas about who she attracts in the pods in an effort to make herself more desirable, which defeats the purpose of the show.
Hannah once again showed her immaturity when she criticized Nick’s height and condemned him as someone she would never go for in the real world. Moreover, Hannah dished on her and Nick’s sex life during the roaring 20s party when he specifically asked her to keep their sex life private. What’s more, Hannah belittled Nick into oblivion, all while telling him she had made him the man he was.
Hannah clearly has no grasp on what it means to be mature, as she’s demonstrated her naivety and penchant for demeaning tactics.
Hannah Has Been Labeled An Abuser
The Way She Treated Nick Is Being Heavily Criticized
Love Is Blind viewers have not taken kindly to Hannah’s treatment of Nick throughout the season. Hannah has been called out on X for her emasculation, calculated dominance, callous nature, and verbally abusive tendencies and actions. @auanxd shared a clip of Hannah and Nick’s final conversation and added a pointed note.
“Hannah is verbally abusive and sandwiches her abuse in “I love yous”. This poor man wth. Every time I think I can’t feel worse for Nick, Hannah makes sure I do.”
@daanitbtlia shared a tweet featured a GIF of people looking upset and slammed Hannah’s nerve.
“Nick is by no means perfect and he is NOT ready for marriage but for Hannah to tell her FIANCÉ that she’ll start treating him like an equal when he starts contributing like one when you yourself is UNEMPLOYED is INSANE. The way she treats Nick is FOUL.”
Hannah has caused outrage among viewers, who think that if the tables were turned, and a man was speaking to a woman the way Hannah speaks to Nick, the network would reconsider airing the abuse.
Episode | What Hannah Said |
---|---|
EP 8 | When discussing how they’d split their bills, Hannah told Nick she was financially more literate than he was. |
EP 9 | When Nick couldn’t boil pasta, Hannah indicated it was the simplest thing ever, and she seemed upset, which was an unwarranted reaction. |
EP 10 | After Nick expressed that he felt unequally treated, Hannah stated that he would be “treated like an equal” if only he contributed “like an equal.” |
EP 11 | Hannah told Nick she had turned him into a man and taught him everything he knew. |
Hannah Has Damaged The Love Is Blind Franchise
Love Is Blind Viewers Think Casting Has Gone Too Far
Love Is Blind season 7’s decision to air Hannah’s abuse towards Nick has been extremely unfavorable among fans who wanted to see quality people on the show. Love Is Blind: UK season 1 proved that an emotionally intelligent and likable cast is possible and is still great for viewer reaction. Casting Hannah on the show proves the U.S. version does not care about its participants, as they are doomed to be set up with problematic people.
Love Is Blind is falling out of favor with fans due to its poor casting choices, and supervillain Hannah has discredited the goal of the show.
On X, @theninaparker summarized, “This last episode of #LoveIsBlind… Hannah is verbally abusive. This was rough to watch. And I’ve had shoes thrown at me on television.” Love Is Blind viewers do want to witness abuse, and they are tired of the show casting people like Hannah.
Will Hannah Appear On Perfect Match?
Other Love Is Blind Cast Have Appeared
Hannah has the potential to be cast on another Netflix reality show known to co-opt Love Is Blind participants, Perfect Match. Izzy Zapata, Micah Lussier, and Jessica Vestal were all cast members on Perfect Match season 2, signaling that Netflix is looking for controversial stars like Hannah. Since Love Is Blind viewers have given Hannah a major reaction, casting her in Perfect Match might be in the cards to attract viewership and continued disdain for Hannah.
Love Is Blind season 7 is available for streaming on Netflix with new episodes dropping every Wednesday.
