The Love Is Blind couple seemed to be on the right foot when they introduced each other to the families. Tim’s private moment with Alex’s dad, Richard Byrd, when asking for Alex’s hand in marriage, was magical. Tim broke up with Alex two days after meeting her dad – whom he had asked for her hand in marriage. During their breakup conversation, Tim talked about all the issues he had experienced with Alex, including her nap after meeting his parents, and not communicating well through text messages. Tim stuck to his decision, saying he never wanted to see Alex again. ” I hate that had had to be my story and will forever have to have it attached to my name, but I remain grateful for the experience, opportunity and the things it showed me about myself. It is what it is. I know when to remove something that is a negative presence in my life.”
Their issues seemed solvable, but Tim wasn’t ready to resolve them. Tim accused his ex-fiance of disrespecting, antagonizing, and not doing the work to make their relationship work. He also accused her of “lack of accountability and secure self-reflection,” indicating that the two would never get back together unless she worked on those things. Alex said her dad was “truly devastated” and wondered if Tim’s letter was all a lie. When Tim called off their engagement, he’d said he didn’t want to see her.
