Night 2 of MasterChef: Generations continued to pit the generations – Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z – against each other. Wednesday night’s challenge from judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich was to create a stunning dish using a minimum of two aged and fermented ingredients in 60 minutes.
Baby Boomer Rebecka, who had the Immunity Pin this week, was tasked with coming down from the balcony halfway through the cook to select which generation was required to incorporate a third, surprise ingredient into their dishes. When the reveal came, the third ingredient was Stilton and Rebecka chose Gen X as the generation that would need to incorporate it into its dishes.
Then the chef with the best dish earned the Immunity Pin, protecting the remaining chefs within their generation from elimination, in the all-new “Age is Just a Number” episode.

The winner for the night was selected from the best dish in each generation. From Gen Z, Becca was selected as having the best dry aged duck breast with aged prosciutto; from Millennials, Anna was chosen for her oil-poached aged snapper; representing Gen X, Kimberly was picked for her dry aged duck breast; and finally, from Baby Boomers, Warren was selected for his dry aged New York strip steak.
And the winner of the Immunity Pin, who saved her entire generation, was Anna, who said, “I feel so good to win this challenge for my team. The Millennials are safe. I took some risks. It paid off so I just feel great to be on the balcony and safe from elimination and just finally relax.”

From Gen Z, Fatima was called on the carpet for her aged salmon and kimchi balls with spaghetti dish; from Gen X, Sunshine was selected for her dry aged rib eye steak; and from Baby Boomers, Christopher was taken to task for his steamed aged snapper.
