Michelle Pfeiffer to Lead ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff ‘The Madison’
Michelle Pfeiffer is heading to the ranch.
The three-time Oscar nominee will star and serve as an executive producer on the “Yellowstone” spinoff series “The Madison,” from creator Taylor Sheridan.
The series, previously in development under the title “2024,” follows a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana. According to Paramount, “the series is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection.”
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who infuses every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the latest chapter in the ‘Yellowstone’ universe, ‘The Madison,’ from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan,” said Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and chairman and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.
“The Madison” is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions. Executive producers include Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer and Keith Cox.
“The Madison” joins the “Yellowstone” spinoffs “1883” and “1923” — while several other series set in the television universe are in development.
Meanwhile, the final series of “Yellowstone” — without Kevin Costner — will premiere Nov. 10 on Paramount+. Costner, who starred on “Yellowstone” for its first five and a half seasons, left the series because of Paramount’s decision to split Season 5 into two parts, which the actor said affected his work on his four-part Western series, “Horizon: An American Saga.” While “Yellowstone” was filming its final episodes, Costner still expressed a desire to wrap up his role as rancher John Dutton, but he and the network ultimately couldn’t come to an agreement.
