New Chicago Fire Season 12 Pics Hint at Brett’s Answer to Casey’s Proposal
Season 12 of Chicago Fire is going to be action-packed — these newly-released pictures prove it.
That’s right: Your first look at Season 12, Episode 1, titled “Barely Gone,” is here, and it seems the stakes for Firehouse 51 are as high as ever. Not only do we catch a glimpse of 51 putting out a truck that has caught on fire, we also see Herrmann (David Eigenberg) with a flashlight investigating something suspicious.
The most intriguing photos, though, are the ones with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), who’s seen seemingly wearing a ring on her finger. In both shots, she has a serious look on her face chatting with Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith). But what does it mean?
Fans will remember that Brett’s on again, off again beau, Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), made a surprise proposal to her at the end of Season 11. Does the (apparent) ring on her finger mean she said yes? To find out for sure, tune in to the Season 12 premiere of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, January 17 at 9/8c on NBC. Episodes will also be available for streaming the next day on Peacock.
“It’ll be interesting to see her really dedicate herself to her career,” she told us. “And I think we’ve always seen Sylvie in a relationship. We’ve always seen her in a romance. She’s a hopeless romantic, but I think it’s important to see her come into her own and focus on her own things. Friendships and her career, not just her love life. I’m really excited about being able to explore all of that.”
What else to expect from Chicago Fire Season 12
In a December 2023 interview with TV Line, showrunner Andrea Newman gave us two hints about what’s to come for Firehouse 51.
“There will be some time jump going into the premiere, and viewers and 51 are in it together,” she told the outlet. “There have been big changes, and the 51 gang is on a rollercoaster ride throughout the episode trying to navigate all of it.”
Newman also revealed, “There will be a new firefighter joining Truck 81, but not for the reasons anyone thinks. Of course, the newbie will be trouble with a capital T — but is it the good kind or the bad kind? We’ll find out….”
