CBS’ Tracker exec producer explains abrupt schedule change as fans left ’so confused’ with ‘out of order’ new episodes
TRACKER fans have been left completely confused after CBS appeared to be airing the show’s new episodes out of order.
Though the drama, starring Justin Hartley, only premiered last week and was on its second episode, many viewers noted their TV guides said Sunday’s broadcast was of episode 4.
Fans of Tracker expressed their confusion on X (formerly Twitter) and wondered if they’d missed a few episodes somehow or if CBS had messed up its schedule.
Luckily for viewers, co-executive producer Steve Harper explained the switch-up and took the time to reply to a few viewers on social media.
“The episode isn’t in the right order,” one X user tweeted. “Tonight’s episode should b number 2, not 4.”
“Seems like the network switched the original order of the episodes,” Steve replied.
“Should I watch this episode of #tracker,” another fan asked. “It looks like [the network] has aired episode 4 instead of episode 2?”
“CBS switched the order of the episodes,” the co-EP tweeted back. “You’re in the right place…”
“This is confusing,” a third fan insisted. “They haven’t shown episodes two and three and the air date four is showing March 4, 2024.”
Steve explained the switch-up was intentional as the decision came from up high but all episodes would eventually air.
“Re-order,” he tweeted after noticing a few more confused viewers. “Courtesy of CBS.”
Tracker premiered on CBS on February 11 after the Super Bowl.
The action series is an adaptation of Jeffery Deaver’s novel, The Never Game.
Justin stars as Colter Shaw, an expert tracker who makes his money by finding both people and things for rewards.
The first episode saw Colter helping a family search for their missing teen, but fans were more focused on the show’s visuals that its storyline.
Viewers shouted out the show for featuring Justin shirtless within the first few minutes of the show, as well as withing the episode’s final moments.
