The shocking and witty historical drama has shot to number one on the streaming platform’s top 10. Page has starred in a number of hit films and series before his Bridgerton role, and here’s everything you need to know about where you might have seen him.

Page is a British-Zimbabwean actor in his early 30s who has since become known for his roles in series such as Roots and Fresh Meat.

What fans may not realise is that one of his first film roles was in the Harry Potter universe.

Rege-Jean Page: The star in Bridgerton

In 2011, the star had an uncredited small role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

If viewers watch the film carefully, they will see Page standing next to Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) in a wedding scene.

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement at discovering his small role, with one saying: “Regé-Jean Page aka the Duke of Hastings aka Simon Basset in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

“He can be seen at the wedding alongside Hermione when Kingsley casts his Patronus.”

Waterloo Road
In 2015, Page played Guy Braxton in the hit secondary school drama series Waterloo Road, which aired on BBC One.

This was a regular role for the star throughout season 10, and he appeared in a total of eight episodes.

Mr Braxton was a Graphic and Product Design teacher, and he joined the school with no money, having to sleep there for accommodation.

He did an accelerated training programme and only had six weeks of training, and was known for being disorganised.

Back in In 2015, the star sat down for an interview with The Version and was asked if he would ever consider becoming a teacher in real life.

He said: “Hmm, maybe. I mean acting is like being a teacher in that sometimes you have to act scary to get kids to behave.

“I really like kids and I like meeting new people so maybe I’ll be a teacher.”

For the People
From 2018 to 2019, he played Leonard Knox on the ABC legal drama series For the People.

This was another recurring role for the star and he appeared in a total of 20 episodes over two years.

His character is one of the newest Assistant United States Attorneys at the United States District Court and he starred in the first and second seasons.

In 2018, he spoke at a red carpet event for the series, saying that he knew nothing about being a lawyer before taking on the role.

He said: “The best thing about my job is that I get to learn as I go along work, every time I get a script, that’s my weekly reading assignment.

“I probably run the city libraries alone during the course of my work.”
