Simone Biles had the classiest response to the fact that she might have been robbed of another gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old Olympian won four medals at the Summer Games – three golds and one silver. Her silver medal was in the floor routine, where the gold went to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade.
New evidence shows that an inquiry that was submitted to the judges might have adjusted Simone‘s score enough to have pushed her to the pinnacle position on the podium.
When she became aware of the evidence, she took to social media to respond.
According to reporting by People, Simone‘s Netflix docuseries Simone Biles: Rising shows that an inquiry was submitted over a a split leap that she performed during her routine. If her score had been adjusted, it would have pushed her to a 14.233, and Rebeca‘s score was a 14.166.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Simone responded to a fan who reshared the video and called out the judges for seemingly messing up. She was not upset in the least.
“Honestly not a big deal for me,” she wrote. “Rebeca had a better floor anyways.”
She continued, writing, “Upsetting how it wasn’t processed but I’m not mad at the results.”
The gymnast did referred to Rebeca as a “Queen” and bowed down to her on the podium at the Games.
While Simone isn’t upset for herself, she did loudly champion her teammate Jordan Chiles, who was stripped of a bronze medal in the same competition.
“BUT JUSTICE FOR JORDAN 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️,” she declared. “ya hear me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
If you missed it, Simone explained why she would miss some of her husband Jonathan Owens‘ NFL games this season.
