If there’s one thing the world knows about Snoop Dogg, it’s that he’s going to bring the fun wherever he goes!
An unlikely breakout star of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper has been going viral on social media over the past couple of days—and now, some of his commentary is being turned into a song.
While Today show stars Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Savannah Guthrie, and Al Roker recounted some moments amid the games, they couldn’t help but highlight the Death Row Records owner’s likely comments as he watched the U.S. vs. China badminton match.
“Snoop’s going viral for his coverage of the games,” Kotb introduced, before video played of the 52-year-old musical artist’s commentary, which was laid over a hip hop track.
“Listen as #SnoopDogg makes a song out of his commentary on the U.S. and China badminton match. 😂,” the caption of the July 30 Instagram post read.
“As you see, it don’t stop ’til the casket drop. They rockin’ and rollin’, back and forth. Gimme that—no, I need that,” he can be heard smoothly describing as the match went on.
Fans in the comment section couldn’t help but appreciate the Baby Boy actor’s fresh take on the games, dropping in with their unfiltered reactions.
“I could definitely watch Snoop Dogg commentate on any sport and sit and watch it for hours,” one admitted, while another agreed, “At first I was wondering why Snoop was there but he sure is making it fun!!!! He’s just like all of us sitting on our couches!”
“Think Snoop is straight up stealing the show at this Olympics but we’re loving it 😂,” a third insisted, as a fourth commended the network for his inclusion: “NBC for the win! BRILLIANT strategy to add Snoop to the NBC team covering the Olympics! Bravo! 👏.”
Several more gushed over “The Next Episode” artist, confessing how much they “love him,” and one fan even dubbed the competition the “Snoop games.”
