Staff at Wicklow restaurant speechless as Gordon Ramsay pops in for a visit
Gordon Ramsay gave the staff and guests at Daata in Bray, County Wicklow, quite the surprise this week when he popped in for dinner.
Boasting the finest Indian and Pakistani food, the chain can also be found in Blackrock, Greystones, and Glasthule, but it was the lucky staff of Bray that got to meet the chef extraordinaire after he had heard about them through the grapevine.
For a moment we wonder if those working at Daata thought they were on Hell’s Kitchen! Sharing a few photos from Gordon’s visit online it sounds like they couldn’t over the shock of seeing the celebrity chef in real life.
They said: ‘We are over the moon (and still shocked) that Gordon Ramsay chose Daata Bray to have his dinner tonight. WE CANNOT BELIEVE IT.’
For those wondering what Gordon had for dinner, he went for Saleem’s Butter Chicken and Shamim’s Afghani Chicken…which sounds amazing. The restaurant continued: ‘Gordon was delighted to chat away to our amazing talented chefs tonight about the food. We are honoured to have hosted him tonight and are over the moon by all his kind comments on our food, service and ambiance.’
Gordon is in town filming the latest season of his show Next Level Chef with Irish production company Bigger Stage. It sees him take chefs under his wing, guide and teach them as well as place tough tasks in their way.
