Fran Drescher (Fran Fine) wore many iconic outfits during The Nanny’s six seasons, and new TikToks show a fan perfectly recreating 13 of them.
A fan of the ‘90s sitcom The Nanny has perfectly recreated 13 of Fran Drescher’s iconic outfits. The Nanny ran for six seasons between 1993-1999, starring Drescher as Fran Fine, who was working in a bridal shop in Flushing Queens before getting dumped by her boyfriend, Danny Imperiali. Fran then becomes The Nanny to Mr. Sheffield’s three children, Maggie, Brighton, and Grace, and eventually marries her boss. The Nanny was one of the standout sitcoms of ‘90s, right up there with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Full House, and Family Matters.
Despite going off the air over 20 years ago, it is clearly still making an impact on pop culture. Hannah Cortez has recreated 13 of Fran’s outfits from the show on her TikTok account. Cortez included five outfits in her first video and eight in her second after the positive reaction to her first Nanny-themed TikTok.
Fran had dozens of eccentric outfits, designed by Brenda Cooper, throughout the six seasons, many of which were to impress Mr. Sheffield. Some of her fashion choices aren’t as popular today as they were 20+ years ago, but rewatching The Nanny and seeing some of Fran’s very ‘90s outfits only adds to the charm of the show. It’s also impressive that Cortez was able to recreate the outfits so closely since many of the clothes Drescher wore aren’t readily available anymore and were likely hard to find or recreate with a modern wardrobe. That being said, these TikToks just go to show how dedicated some fans are to their favorite series.
