Will Colter Shaw have a love connection in Tracker Season 2? With new cast member Floriana Lima joining the show and her character described as Colter’s longtime on and off lover, the show could be setting up a love triangle between the self-proclaimed “lone wolf” and another character played by Justin Hartley’s real-life wife, Sofia Pernas.
Who Are Tracker Season 2’s New Cast Members?
Floriana Lima (A Million Little Things, Supergirl) joins Tracker Season 2 in a recurring role. The new trailer for Tracker gave the quickest glimpse of Lima but definitely set up the possibility for a romance with Colter. In the trailer, Lima’s character and Colter share a steamy kiss.
TVLine reports that Lima plays Camille Picket, who is described as “Haunted, attractive… Camille has been Colter’s off-and-on lover for at least the past 10 years.” The character synopsis adds, “Camille’s sister went missing 10 years ago and her case was never solved — which brings up some trauma for both Camille and Colter on every anniversary of her disappearance, but also causes them to reconnect, at least for an evening.”
The synopsis for Tracker‘s first episode of Season 2 gives a hint at what to expect: “While investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car was found abandoned on the side of the road in the backwoods of Arkansas, Colter makes a shocking discovery about the mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime. Also, Reenie opens up her new law firm and enlists Velma’s help in setting up shop.”
As fans know, Camille is the second of ex of Colter’s that Tracker has introduced. Season 1 saw him reunite with his ex Billie Matalon (played by his Hartley’s real-life wife Sofia Pernas), a rival rewardist who has assisted Colter on past jobs. In Season 1, Colter and Billie run into each other five years after their break up when Billie asks for Colter’s help on a job. The two later work together to track down a missing racehorse in Lexington, Kentucky.
Hartley confirmed to Deadline in May 2024 that Pernas will be back for Tracker Season 2, so there could be tension is Billie, Colter, and Camille show up in the same episode together.
“She’s definitely coming back. We have some pretty cool stuff for her to do next year,” Hartley said. “She’ll be back several times next year.We built this really great group of actors [who are] hopefully more than willing to come back, because we’d love to play more with them. We have a bunch of stories to tell with all [of them].”
TVLine also confirmed that Matt Long (Manifest) and Lindy Booth (The Librarians) are guest stars in the October 13 premiere, “both in pivotal roles tied to the aforementioned missing family case.”
CBS released the new trailer for Tracker Season 2 on September 13, which gave a peek at Jensen Ackles as Colter’s brother Russell and Sofia Pernas (Hartley’s real-life wife) as reward seeker Billie Matalon.
In a blink-and-you-might-have-missed-it moment, Colter kisses a mystery woman, who we now know is Lima. Velma tells him over the phone, “I’m making sure you haven’t done anything stupid,” and he responds, “I don’t want to talk about it.” Tech expert Bobby notes, “Well that sounded sus.”
In a September 19 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hartley explained how his character couldn’t find a missing girl 10 years ago and he continues to investigate the case on the anniversary of her disappearance. “We’re going to introduce that he’s human and not a superhero,” Hartley said. “He’s hung up on the fact that he couldn’t figure it out, and it’s haunted him for years and years.”
Showrunner Elwood Reid added, “It is not the case of the week, but we bookend the episode with his ‘white whale’ of a case, the case that he can’t shake.”
This is where Lima’s character comes in. “[Colter and Camille’s relationship is] based on grief and it’s a shared grief that they have,” Reid explained. “It’s another way to access Colter’s character emotionally.” Camille wants to move on from the case, but Colter can’t because he could never crack it.
