The Young and the Restless: For Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman, art imitates life

On The Young and the Restless, Eric Braeden plays the formidable Victor Newman. The name itself can strike fear in many residents of Genoa City, causing many people to try to take him down or have him counted out. But, just like Victor Newman is unstoppable, so is the man behind the Moustache.

Keeping Young and Restless
One of the longest-standing cast members of The Young and the Restless, Eric, is often seen posting to his Instagram account, and it’s clear once you look at him just how active he is. Hitting the boxing bag or even lifting it as part of his workouts keeps Braeden in great shape.

Den Of Thieves: A movie, or Victor Newman’s office?
On The Young and the Restless, all of Victor’s children are highly driven and successful business people, and Braeden’s son is another case of life imitating art. Christian Gudegast is a writer, filmmaker, and director with quite a Hollywood film resume to his credit.

Gudegast was the filmmaker of London Has Fallen and Plane. He is perhaps best known for the movie Den Of Thieves, and now, reuniting with Gerrard Butler, he is working on Den Of Thieves 2 Pantera. This action/crime movie is set to hit theatres on January 10th, 2025, as proud father Braeden happily announced on his Instagram account. Gerard Butler is reprising his role as Big Nick O’Brien, and the feature film will also star none other than Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Oshea Jackson Jr., the son of the American rapper Ice Cube.If the first Den Of Thieves is any kind of benchmark, this should be the action film to be looking forward to, with big scenes, great special effects, a compelling storyline, and characters you can get invested in. The first film has one of the best shootout scenes and is comparable to the downtown L.A. carnage in “Heat” (1995).
The Young and the Restless: Father and son

There is more than just a passing resemblance; like father, like son, Christian has the same intensity that his father brings to every episode of The Young and the Restless. What a scene those two could make if Gudegast ever found himself joining his dad on set. He could easily play a younger Victor for a flashback episode or, even better, on a current storyline as part of a patented Newman attack on Jack Abbot (Peter Bergman). We’ll just have to wait and see if this ever comes to pass, but until then, you can always watch full episodes of The Young and the Restless weekdays on CBS or stream them on Paramount Plus.
