Twilight’s Reboot Can Be Inspired by Another Supernatural Series

The Twilight Saga is still one of the most iconic young adult franchises. Starring Robert Pattinson as the vampire Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as the human teenager Isabella Swan, these films told the story of a small-town student’s romance with a century-old vampire The four films are based on books of the same name by Stephanie Meyer. While fans love the movies, some aspects didn’t sit well with critics and naysayers. Despite the issues, the TwilightSaga took the world by storm, catapulting the careers of the main actors, who went on to star in blockbuster movies and TV series.
But Twilight fans are in for a treat because their favorite vampires will be back for a TV series currently in the works at Lionsgate Television. It’s only a decade after the release of the last film, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II, and some fans believe it’s too soon to replace Edward and Bella. But there’s hope that the TV series will fix glaring issues from the books and movies to create a more compelling love story. Thankfully, other vampire-human love stories on TV have performed well, and Twilight’s reboot could benefit from taking inspiration from one in particular.

The second in the series of Twilight movies based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer, “Twilight: New Moon” continues the story of Bella and her involvement with a family of vampires, only her penchant for befriending mysterious creatures now also includes her friend Jacob, who is much more than he seems.

This is definitely at the top of the list of best vampire movies of all time, blending drama, danger, and the love triangle that divided the country into “Team Edward,” and “Team Jacob.”

Bella has misgivings about celebrating her 18th birthday which is an unpleasant reminder that she is aging and vampire Edward is not. But when the Cullens throw her a small party, a simple paper cut from a birthday card sends her life spiraling out of control as the tiny drop of blood tempts Jasper—still new to the “vegetarian vampire” lifestyle—into a feeding frenzy, causing Edward to fight Jasper to protect Bella, who is hurt in the process. Believing himself to be too big a danger to the woman he loves, Edward breaks up with Bella, convincing her that he doesn’t want her before he leaves town forever.

After months of depression, a dangerous ride on a motorcycle brings the vision of a protective Edward close to Bella, thawing her sad, frozen heart back to life. When Bella turns to her friend Jacob to rebuild a motorcycle, the two become close. Thought Jacob is clearly in love with Bella, her heart still belongs to Edward. However, she finds herself leaning more and more on Jacob’s quiet strength and love. But when Jacob suddenly disappears from her life to focus on the cult-like group of Quileutes whom he previously scorned, Bella will soon have to face the truth that Edward may not be the only mythological creature in her life.

Bella is caught between two warring groups just as vengeful Victoria returns to Forks, intent on killing Bella. So which man is truly her protector and which one will she choose?
