Two more original ‘Full House’ cast members join Netflix’s ‘Fuller House’ sequel series
In April, the streaming service confirmed rumours that it is reviving the classic late 80s/early 90s sitcom for a 13-episode series titled Fuller House, which has been created by the original show’s creator Jeff Franklin. Fuller House will premiere on Netflix next year (2016).
Original Full House cast members Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber will star in the sequel series, with John Stamos reprising his popular role as Uncle Jesse as a guest star. Stamos will also serve as a producer on the new series.
Now, fellow original stars Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin have signed up for Fuller House too. Loughlin confirmed her involvement during an appearance on Good Morning America yesterday (May 28), while Stamos broke the news of Saget’s return on Twitter.
However, two other original Full House stars, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, have already confirmed that they will not be returning for the sequel series. In the original Full House series, the actresses shared the role of Michelle Tanner, which they originated as babies.
Netflix’s synopsis for the sequel series teases: “In Fuller House the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian DJ Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco.
DJ’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and DJ’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of DJ’s two boys — the rebellious 12-year-old JD and neurotic 7-year-old Max — and her soon-to-arrive baby.”
