After flipping, twisting and dazzling their way into the history books at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles and other Team USA gymnasts are bringing their talents to Oceanside.
Why it matters: The G.O.A.T. is putting on a show to inspire and entertain the next generation of gymnasts after winning four medals in Paris where she solidified her legacy as the most decorated gymnast in history.
Zoom in: The 30-city “Gold Over America” tour kicks off at Frontwave Arena, a new 7,500-seat sports and entertainment venue in North County.
The event is described as a “pop concert-style spectacle,” and “high-octane, exhilarating, and family-friendly show” featuring performances by an elite squad of gymnasts and dancers.
Fans can see stunts by Olympic gold medal-winners Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles, whose floor routine secured an historic all-Black podium shared with Biles.
Pommel-horse hero Stephen Nedoroscik and teammates Brody Malone and Fred Richard, who all earned bronze with the U.S. men’s team, will also be performing.
Driving the news: Due to high demand, the arena added a second date for the local leg of the tour.
Tickets ($81+) are now on sale for 7:30pm shows on Sept. 16 and 17.
Fun fact: The arena is also the new home of the San Diego Clippers, a G League basketball team, and the San Diego Sockers indoor soccer team.
