Snoop Dogg has been a fixture at the 2024 Paris Olympics, so it’s no surprise he took center stage during the closing ceremony.
The rapper, 52, performed “Drop It Like It’s Hot” as part of the Aug. 11 ceremony, which mainly took place in Paris’ Stade de France, the site of multiple Olympic events this year.
While Snoop was in Paris throughout much of the Olympics, he delivered his closing ceremony performance from Los Angeles on the beach among giant sandcastles.
He was then joined by Dr. Dre on stage for a beachside performance of “The Next Episode.”
Billie Eilish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers also beamed in with performances from Los Angeles, the city set to host the next Summer Games in 2028. H.E.R. sang the national anthem after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass appeared to ceremoniously usher in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Snoop’s performance at the closing ceremony brought his Olympic participation full circle. He also took part in the opening ceremony on July 26, and at one point carried the Olympic torch ahead of the event.
As a special correspondent for NBC Olympics coverage this summer, Snoop won over fans with his joyful support of Team USA athletes, from cheering on Simone Biles and her fellow gymnasts to hopping in the pool for a swimming session with Olympic legend Michael Phelps.
He also went viral for some of his enthusiastic reactions to Olympic events, such as the time he lifted his sunglasses during the women’s artistic gymnastics qualification event on July 28.
Snoop provided commentary for several events, including delivering some free-flowing narration of a badminton match between the U.S. and China.
“As you see, it don’t stop till the casket drop. They rocking and rolling, back and forth,” he said in his rapid-fire commentary. “Give me that, no I need that. Nope, over here, nope, over there, what about over there? Nope. What about there? Nope. Give me that. I need that. That, too. Sit down. Get down. Wait a minute. Hold it, way up in the sky.”
The rapper also reunited with BFF Martha Stewart for a dressage event on Aug. 3, twinning with the lifestyle guru in matching horseback riding coats and helmets.
He also shared a sweet moment with tennis legend Billie Jean King, who posted a selfie of her and Snoop on X.
