After five nostalgia-fueled seasons, Netflix’s reboot of the beloved sitcom Full House has come to an end. The show began in tragedy, with D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) recently widowed. In her moment of crisis, her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) decide to move into her childhood home in San Francisco to share the burdens of life and motherhood.
Even though the reasons behind the communal family reunion were devastating, there was a lot of joy on Fuller House. Fittingly, the show ended with a blessing in the form of a triple wedding, with all three members of the She-Wolf Pack getting married to their respective beaus. It wouldn’t be a sitcom without some absurd obstacles getting in their way, but by the time the vows are read, there’s no question that each woman is getting the ending she’s been looking for.
To commemorate the happy occasion, we’re going to break down the ending of Fuller House: The Farewell Season, including that shocking twist ending and what’s going to happen to the characters now that the show is coming to an end.
Jimmy curses Fuller House’s triple wedding
Everyone is in full wedding preparation mode leading up to their joint ceremony, and for Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch), the stress is manifesting as extreme superstition. After he accidentally saw his bride-to-be, Stephanie, at midnight on the eve of the wedding, he became convinced he’s cursed the whole day. Everyone else thinks he’s being silly. That is, until they arrive at the wedding venue the next As if that wasn’t enough of a hitch in their plans to get hitched, the minister they hired to officiate the ceremony ditches them at the last minute for a celebrity client. Jimmy is convinced that he has cursed the wedding, but they are able to throw together a lovely backyard ceremony at the last minute. They even get a celebrity minister of their own in the form of New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre.
There are a lot of familiar faces at the wedding. Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Danny (Bob Saget), and Joey (Dave Coulier) are all there. Gia (Marla Sokoloff) and Vicki (Gail Edwards) are present as well. ’90s singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb even stops by to serenade the newlyweds.
With the wedding behind them, all that is left is the sad business of saying goodbye to the home they’ve been building for themselves over the past five years.
The She-Wolf Pack struggles to say goodbye
The day after the wedding, everyone is making bittersweet preparations to move on into their own family units. Kimmy’s daughter, Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringa), is sad to be leaving her housemates/new brothers, Jackson (Michael Campion) and Max (Elias Harger). It’s an especially tear-jerking moment for her, as she’s already made the decision to go to college on the east coast. Jackson, on the other hand, will be sticking around San Francisco to learn computer programming. In the final episode, he also strengthens his relationship with his girlfriend, Rocki (Landry Bender), by telling her he loves her before the wedding.
Of course, even though they may no longer be housemates, that doesn’t mean the three families won’t still be close. Fernando (Juan Pablo Di Pace) and Jimmy will presumably remain in business together as the owners of Uncle Monty’s Sandwich Shop, in which Steve (Scott Weinger) is a major investor. Still, when the time for official goodbyes comes, the three members of the She-Wolf Pack are all emotional, and it’s clear that D.J. is devastated as she watches her sister and best friend walk out the door.
But, in the final moments of the episode, those tears of sadness are replaced with tears of joy when Stephanie and Kimmy return for one last surprise development.
