Pattinson, however, couldn’t help but wonder why Bella Swan would fall in love with Edward, despite the disturbing aspects of the character.

In a previous interview with Buzzfeed, he questioned the central romance of the franchise.
He mentioned in the interview how Bella was determined to be with Edward despite the unsettling aspect of his character. He said, When you put the bare facts out, [Edward] tells [Bella] he killed forty or fifty people and ‘You really shouldn’t [love me]. I want to kill you so much every single day, every moment I’m with you I’m desperately wanting to kill you.’ And [Bella’s] like, ‘I don’t care, I love you.’
