After a shocking season 3 finale, a new photo could confirm the couple’s breakup in Virgin River Season 4.
‘Virgin River’ Season 4 will premiere July 20, 2022
After filming wrapped for season 4 in December 2021, Virgin River fans have desperately waiting for Netflix to announce the release date for the new episodes. Now we know that the 12-episode season will premiere on July 20 on the streaming service.
Deadline shares the season description for season 4 and it’s going to be explosive.
In Season 4, Mel confronts a dilemma. Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark, or Jack, she has a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother, and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him.
Complicating matters is the arrival of a handsome new doctor, who’s in the market to start a family of his own. Hope is still healing from her car accident, and the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doc.
Brie, intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves, unexpectedly finds herself in a closer relationship with Mike and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige.
A new photo may have just confirmed Mel and Jack’s breakup
In the season 3 finale, Mel interrupted Jack’s proposal to share her pregnancy news. The former Marine was thrown for a loop when Mel also explained her concerns about the baby’s paternity. Now, Breckenridge has shared that the couple is in for a bit of a tough road ahead. “If it’s not Jack’s baby, Jack and Mel are naturally going to have some tough times ahead,” the This Is Us alum told E! News via Hello! “It would be immensely difficult. That would be extremely challenging, especially for Jack. If he’s gonna stick around, if he’s devoted to Mel, that’s gonna be hard to have a baby that’s her dead husband’s baby. That’s just, like, asking a lot.”
Now a new photo has seemed to confirm their breakup. In a new photo, newcomer Cameron (Mark Ghanimé) the doctor that just joined Mel and Doc’s (Tim Matheson) practice, can be seen smiling in Mel’s face. The character description for Cameron reads, “[He’s] a dashing new physician. Armed with eye-catching good looks, a razor-sharp intellect, and a smile that could light up the world, Cameron makes an immediate splash in town — especially with the ladies of Virgin River.”
In the newly released photo, Cameron and Mel can be seen sharing a smile and in-depth conservation which could hint at trouble between Mel and Jack.
We will finally learn who shot Jack
At the end of season 2, Jack was shot and left for dead in his bar. Then, in the season 3 finale, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) was arrested for the crime. However, things aren’t quite adding up. Luckily, we’ll learn the truth in season 4.
“The audience will be truly surprised at who’s behind all of it,” Virgin River showrunner Sue Tenney told TV Insider. She added, “If we get the actual reveal [in season 4], it would detail more of how this all was intertwined. The webbing of that story goes all the way back to the first season, so it’s a connecting tissue that goes through four seasons.”
