Netflix viewers have taken to social media to share their thoughts on romantic drama series Virgin River, with some calling it their “favourite” show on the streaming service
The Netflix romantic drama series, Virgin River, has captivated fans as they eagerly anticipate the release of its sixth season.
The American TV show, based on Robyn Carr’s novels of the same name, has been a resounding success since its debut in 2019, with a new season released annually.
The plot revolves around Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge), who takes up a midwife job in the remote town of Virgin River, Northern California, hoping for a fresh start. However, she soon discovers that life in a small town is more complicated than she anticipated.
The fifth season of Virgin River was released on Netflix in September, accompanied by a two-part Christmas special. The romantic series seems to have garnered a new fan base recently, with many recommending it on social media.
In response to a query about whether Virgin River “is worth watching”, one fan enthused: “Just started watching it, I’m at season 3 episode 4, LOVE IT”, reports the Mirror.
Another chimed in: “I love it. Can’t wait for the next season!” Further praise came from another viewer who declared: “One of my favs! ” while another admitted: “I like it. Can be slow Moving to get into but I found it’s an easy watch.”
One final fan confessed: “My husband and I are hooked. It is so good.”
While the official release date for the sixth series is yet to be announced, it is anticipated that Virgin River will return in the first half of 2025.
Fans of the show have been left speculating whether Lexa Doig’s character, Paige Lassiter, will make a comeback in the upcoming series, following the shocking discovery of her husband Wes’ (played by Steve Bacic) body. In a twist of events during the second season, Preacher (portrayed by Colin Lawrence) helped Paige conceal the body after she accidentally killed him.
Despite Preacher’s pleas, Paige decided to leave at the conclusion of the fifth series, hoping for a new beginning with her son Christopher.
