The series follows Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse who leaves her life behind in Los Angeles after a series of tragedies for a new start in Virgin River. She, however, ends up falling in love with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a stoic retired Marine and owner of Jack’s bar.
After finishing filming the fourth season in December 2021, Virgin River fans have been waiting a long time for the premiere date. But now we know that, in addition to the 4th season having 12 episodes, it will debut on July 20th on the streaming service .
Deadline has additionally shared the season description for Season 4 and itâs going to be explosive.
âIn season 4, Mel faces a dilemma. Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her late husband, Mark, or Jack, she feels a sense of optimism. New photo may have confirmed Mel and Jackâs separation
At the end of Season 3, no matter what, Mel interrupted Jack’s proposal to share her pregnancy news. The former Marine was confused when Mel also explained her concerns about the baby’s paternity. Now, Breckenridge has shared that the couple is on a tough road ahead.
âIf it’s not Jack’s baby, Jack and Mel naturally have some difficult times ahead,â the former This Is Us actress told E! News. âIt would be immensely difficult. This would be extremely challenging, especially for Jack. If he’s going to stick around, if he’s devoted to Mel, it’s going to be hard to have a baby that’s her dead husband’s baby. So, that’s, like, a lot to ask.â
But now, a new photo apparently confirmed this separation, as several fan profiles on Twitter pointed out. That’s because, in a new photo, newcomer Cameron (Mark GhanimĂ©), the doctor who has just joined Mel and Doc’s (Tim Matheson) clinic, can be seen smiling as he looks at Mel.
The character description for Cameron reads: â[He is] a dashing new doctor. Armed with an attractive appearance, a sharp intellect and a smile that could light up the world, Cameron is an instant hit in town â especially with the women of Virgin River.â
In the newly released image, Cameron and Mel can be seen sharing a smile, giving the deep impression that could hint at problems between Mel and Jack.

Additionally, at the end of season two, Jack was shot and left to die in his bar. Then, at the end of Season 3, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) was arrested for the crime. However, things are not falling into place. , we’ll find out the truth in season four.
âAudiences will be genuinely surprised by who is behind all of this,â Virgin River showrunner Sue Tenney told TV Insider. She added: âIf we get the real reveal [in Season 4], that would go into more detail about how this was all intertwined. The plot of this story goes back to the first season, so it’s a connective tissue that goes through four seasons.â
