Virgin River season six of the Netflix hit romantic drama is set to make a comeback sooner than expected.
After a hiatus since its festive episodes in November 2023, details on the show’s return have been scarce, with production delays due to industry-wide strikes last year.
With filming only commencing in February, viewers were initially informed that the new season wouldn’t grace screens until early 2025.
But in a turn of events, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos delivered some good news during the Q2 earnings interview, confirming that the series starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson will be back later this year.
Sarandos announced: “Just before the end of this year we’ve got Squid Game’s return, Emily in Paris’s return, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters.
“That’s all just coming up before the end of the year.”
While an exact release date for Virgin River season six remains under wraps, speculation suggests it could align with the previous season’s November release schedule.
The news of the show’s earlier-than-planned return has sparked excitement among the fanbase, eagerly awaiting their next visit to the picturesque town of Virgin River.
Taking to Reddit, one fan expressed their excitement with a succinct: “Yee! ! More Xmas episodes!”, while another enthusiast chimed in: “Yaaaay! Good news.”
Delighted by the anticipation of festive storytelling, a fan shared: “This will be a nice winter treat I can’t wait to see what’s in store… I hope Mel finally gets to have a baby.”
Another eagerly added: “Yes I cannot wait any longer. I want to see Mel and her dad’s story and I know more problems for Brady are coming around.”
