Virgin River is back for two all-new holiday episodes, and Netflix has promised that one long (and we mean long) waiting event is finally happening: Charmaine is having her babies!
The character (portrayed by actress Lauren Hammersley) has been pregnant with twins since the show’s first season. Now, with the season 5 holiday episodes that drop on November 30, it looks like the babies will finally arrive. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith teased, “you may or may not get a birth or two.”
The show’s official Instagram account shares a behind-the-scenes photo of Charmaine in a hospital gown with nurse practitioner and midwife Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge). The caption reads, “Charmaine’s babies are finally making a grand entrance in 4 days. It’s the most festive delivery of the season! 💫🎄”
Fans hopped to the comments section to leave messages like, “The most festive delivery of the season and the longest pregnancy in the history of ever 😁” and “She’s only been pregnant for 37,628 days…are they coming out as kindergartners?”
Virgin River star Mark Ghanimé (Dr. Cameron Hayek) commented, “That was fast! Seems like only 2019 when she was pregnant! 😂” But Lauren herself chimed in with the best response: “Full disclosure: I have very much enjoyed being pregnant for five years. I didn’t go to the gym. Ate what I wanted. Lots of bed rest and white wine.”
We can’t wait to see how things pan out for Charmaine. Virgin River fans know there’s sure to be some drama involved!
