Season five, part one of Virgin River landed recently and fans quickly devoured the first 10 episodes and have been left with plenty of questions.
The show once again introduced some new cast members including Susan Hogan as Rose, Doc Mullins’ (played by Tim Matheson) college sweetheart, and Libbey Osler as Ava.
There was also the exit of other characters, most notably Paige Lassiter (Lexa Doig) after she wanted a fresh start away from Virgin River.
Why did Tara leave Virgin River?
Tara Anderson (Stacey Farber), the eldest daughter of Lilly Anderson (Lynda Boyd), made the sad decision to leave Virgin River.
She put her farm on the market after it was destroyed by wildfires with property developers eyeing up the land.
Luckily, Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) decided she would buy the plot of land with her fiancé Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) for the couple to make a fresh start.
Tara left Virgin River and took her baby sister Chloe with her as it looked like there was nothing much keeping her in the town any longer.
Her farmhouse was gone and only sad memories of her deceased parents lingered in Virgin River.
Some fans are likely to be sad by the departure of Tara and Chloe, especially after Mel suffered a tragic baby loss in season five.
Mel and Chloe developed a special connection with the baby from season one after the infant was left on the doorstep of Doc Mullins’ clinic by Lilly, who was struggling with postpartum depression at the time.
The nurse practitioner even named the girl Chloe after her stillborn sister, strengthening the connection between the two.
Canadian actress Farber may no longer be in Virgin River but she has another project she’s working on: The Spencer Sisters on The CW.
Farber will be taking the lead in The Spencer Sisters as one of the titular siblings with the show airing in America on October 4.
However, given the transient nature of the cast coming and going from Virgin River, there’s no reason Tara couldn’t make a comeback at some point.
The final two installations of Virgin River season five will be arriving on Netflix just ahead of the holiday period on November.
The last two episodes promise even more drama with a dose of festive cheer as Mel delves into the mystery of her biological father after discovering her dad wasn’t the man she thought he was.
Moreover, Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and her romance with Denny Cutler (Kai Bradbury) is going to be tested after she admitted she could be pregnant with uncertainty over the father of the baby and fans fearing the worst for the child.
