Martin Henderson has landed an exciting new production role on the hit Netflix series Virgin River, and his on-screen sister Zibby Allen couldn’t be more proud.
Virgin River star Zibby Allen has congratulated her co-star Martin Henderson for stepping up behind the scenes on the next season of the popular Netflix drama.
Martin has portrayed former US Marine Jack Sheridan since the show’s inception opposite Alexandra Breckenridge as his love interest Mel Monroe.
Zibby has since become a fan-favourite after being introduced as Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan in season three.
The series is expected to return in early 2025 for its sixth outing, and Martin won’t just be showcasing his talents in front of the camera this time around.
Earlier this year, he confirmed he’d be directing an episode of Virgin River for the very first time, and Zibby was clearly absolutely thrilled.
She took to Instagram recently to share a sweet snap of herself with Martin and their co-star Marco Grazzini, who portrays police detective Mike Valenzuela.
“You won’t be surprised to know that my bro from a tv mo, @martinhendersonofficial also absolutely shines as a director,” Zibby wrote in the caption.
“Can’t wait for you to see his episode in #VirginRiverSeason6.”
Martin first shared the news of his new role back in April with a photo of himself with filming equipment and a clapper board posted on the official Virgin River Instagram page.
Fans were delighted to find out he’ll be taking on more responsibility this season, and have since shared their excitement on Zibby’s post as well.
“What a fab photo of director and great cast xx,” one viewer commented.
“I love the support and the family love of the cast and crew,” another replied. “Those faces say it all. No wonder VR is such a great success.”
“So excited for this episode and the whole season!!” exclaimed a third fan.
A release date for Virgin River season six hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but Martin recently shared another update that had fans speculating an announcement could be coming soon.
Taking to Instagram again, he said: “Back in the studio making all things Virgin River just spiffy.
“We are close to wrapping up season 6 and what a ride this one has been. Excited for everyone to see it.”
