Alexandra Breckenridge has been interviewing her co-stars during the lengthy wait for more Virgin River and has recalled a touching moment she shared with one of the acting legends in the cast.
Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge gets emotional while she reminisces with her iconic co-star Annette O’Toole on her new podcast.
During the hiatus in between new seasons of the hit Netflix drama, Alexandra and Zibby Allen (who portrays Brie Sheridan) have launched a new podcast, I Like You Very Much.
On the show, the two pals and co-stars sat down with other members of the Virgin River cast, including Martin Henderson, Ben Hollingsworth, Lauren Hammersley and more.
The podcast recently launched with a heartfelt chat with Annette, who has portrayed the mayor of Virgin River Hope McCrea since the first season.
During the interview, the Mel Monroe star revealed Annette recently insisted Alexandra could leave set when she was running late to make it home to her children.
An emotional Alexandra recalled: “You told me to go to the airport when I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going to miss my flight’.
“And it was on your close-up coverage of the scene we’d been doing.”
Alexandra was clearly incredibly grateful to her co-star, as she admitted: “I’m getting sweaty palms just thinking about it.
“I got so emotional when you were like, ‘Go. Just go.’ Because I missed my kids so much, and you completely understood.
“I got so emotional at the time and I don’t think I ever let it out or said anything, but I was so appreciative.”
Annette has two daughters of her own and related deeply to Alexandra’s concern she wouldn’t make it back to her kids in time.
“I’ve been through that very thing,” she replied. “There’s nothing more important than that. Nothing.”
The screen icon clearly had a great time chatting to her two co-stars, as she shared a sweet message when the podcast episode was announced on their Instagram page.
“What an honor to be your first published guest!” she wrote under a clip of their interview.
“Thank you both for the lovely talk we had. It was an absolute pleasure. Love and miss you, A & Z.”
Fans can subscribe to the podcast for $25 (£19), or upgrade to video podcasts with a $35 (£27) subscription. Some of the proceeds will be going towards Save the Children.
A sixth season of Virgin River is currently in the works and expected to air in 2025, but an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
