Virgin River’s Muriel actress has given an insight into the cast dynamic away from the cameras and it isn’t what fans were hoping for.
Virgin River’s Muriel star has opened up on her fellow actors when they aren’t filming the heartwarming show.
Retired movie star Muriel’s (played by Teryl Rothery) part in Virgin River has grown over the five seasons, after simply starting off as a member of Hope McCrea’s (Annette O’Toole) sewing circle.
In the fifth season of the Netflix drama, she embarked on an unexpected romance with Dr Cameron Hayek (Mark Ghanime), who is about 15 years her junior.
So fans are excited to see how their relationship develops when Virgin River makes a comeback for season six later this year or in early 2025.
The cast and crew have to spend months at a time in Vancouver when filming Virgin River so have grown very close over the years.
However, when asked by a fan if they spent a lot of time together away from the show on Chatting with B, Muriel actress Teryl Rothery shared the disappointing truth.
“Not as much as we’d all love, because we all go all over the place”, she said.
“I’m based out of Vancouver, Canada, but I’m always flitting around and doing things and Alexandra’s [Breckenridge] in Georgia and Martin’s [Henderson] off going home and everyone’s all over the place.
“But when we are together here we try and catch up and there’s some actors I do have an opportunity to see.”
Rothery continued: “I’ll get together every time in a while with Nicola who plays Connie, she’s a dear one I love her to bits and I’ll go for walks sometimes with Gwyneth who plays Jo Ellen.
“We keep in contact when we can so Annette O’Toole and I we’ll phone check-in, email, text, that kind of thing.
“But for the most part, it’s like this fast and furious, intense, fantastic friendship that we get to spend these four months together and then boom it’s gone basically.”
It won’t be too long though before the gang is reunited in Canada again.
Filming for season six is scheduled to begin on February 2, 2024, so there is just a few more weeks until the cast and crew are back together.
They will shoot the new episodes until May 17 when filming is expected to be wrapped up.
As long as there are no delays, it is thought season six of Virgin River will be out in late 2024.
