Gordon Ramsay was involved in a terrible accident this past week. The chef was in Connecticut when the accident happened, and after the incident, he was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The accident’s aftermath was also posted on social media and showed some really scary footage.
Ramsay called the accident “brutal” and said that it “really shook me.” He said that after his trip to the hospital following the accident, he was “lucky to be here.” That is when he lifted his chef’s jacket and showed what he referred to as him looking like a “purple potato.”
His entire side was dark purple and bruised terribly. He also showed his helmet, which was banged up and damaged. Gordon explained that if he weren’t wearing the helmet, he would probably be dead right now. “I cannot tell you the importance of wearing a helmet,” he said.
Luckily, he said he didn’t break any bones or suffer any major injuries other than the intense bruising. The helmet really saved his life, though. “I don’t care how short the journey is. I don’t care, you know, the fact that these helmets cost money … they’re crucial,” Ramsay said. “Even with the kids, a short journey, they’ve got to wear a helmet.”

Gordon Ramsay Working On Remaining Healthy
While Gordon Ramsay was lucky to walk away from the bike accident alive, he is riding his bike to get and stay healthy.
The Instagram post shows the effects of his severely damaged helmet and ripped and tattered clothes. However, he has said that he has been taking up cycling and competing in Ironman races for close to a decade now to “get in serious shape” (via The Daily Mail).
“The more I train, the more normal I am, the more I feel that I’m still unchanged. It’s just another little reminder of who I really am,” Ramsay said
