When Matt joined Love Is Blind season 1, he hoped his soulmate would be on the other side of the wall. His dreams came true. Matt flirted heavily with Amber and Jessica and even talked about proposing to Jessica before retracting almost immediately. Within the course of 10 weeks, Matt and Amber went from being total strangers to courting and getting married.
They overcame a persistent love triangle involving Matt, Amber, and Jessica, hesitant family members, and officially tied the knot. Matt and Amber’s most significant issues involved finances, especially because of Amber’s student loans, which she discussed in Love Is Blind season 1, episode 6. As Amber’s and Matt’s connection deepened, Jessica remained hung up on Matt despite him pursuing a connection with Amber.
This connection only increased after all the Love Is Blind couples met during their Mexico trip. Jessica pulled Matt aside, asking if he was sure about his chemistry with Amber. Amber and Matt announced that they were expecting their first child together. The couple met in 2018 while filming the series and wedded. The final episode was shot in November 2018 but aired in February 2020. The Love Is Blind couple appeared on the first episode of “The Love Seat” podcast hosted by fellow Love Is Blind alum Lauren-Speed Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton. Amber said:
“Over summer break, he just went and knocked me up.”
Lauren was immediately happy after hearing the great news, saying:
“There’s a baby Barnett on the way.”
Amber and Matt shared the exciting news on their Instagram page with a video montage of their memories from the start and captioned it: “Where it started, Where we’ve been, Where we’re at…” Amber and Matt are still happily married, and with their growing family, there seem to be better things ahead for the pair.

Matt is a professional engineer but is currently working in sales. According to Matt’s LinkedIn profile, the Love Is Blind cast member works in technical sales and environmental engineering and is also a project manager. Matt is working as a technical sales representative for Argu America, a position he’s held since April 2023.

Matt’s Instagram shows that he’s a gamer. His bio indicates that he loves his dog, is a proud husband, and is an engineer. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and making goofy videos about his experiences. Matt shared a video of him and his wife vacationing. The Love Is Blind star hasn’t stopped gushing about her since they got married. Matt has also managed to maintain a close relationship with Lauren and Cameron. He recently posted images of them together after meeting at the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival on September 14, 2024.
The Love Is Blind star also ran a GoFundMe project to support raising money for his dog’s surgery. In an emotional post, Matt shared how his dog Bandit suffered from gallbladder problems.
