What Is Gordon Ramsay’s Net Worth?
Gordon Ramsay has made a lot of money off of shouting out curse words on TV. The chef became an American household name back in 2005 thanks to the U.S. version of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX, and now, years later, Ramsay has hosted many of the network’s top-rated food shows. He’s also opened a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, plus a burger chain. With all of that in mind, you’re probably thinking that Gordon Ramsay’s net worth is through the roof—and you’re definitely not wrong about that one.
According to Forbes’ list of 2020’s highest-paid celebrities, Ramsay pulled in $70 million that year. He clocked in at #19 on the list that year, immediately ahead of the Jonas Brothers and behind Ryan Reynolds.Much of his wealth has come from his roles on Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, and MasterChef Junior, as well as the dozens of acclaimed restaurants he owns. He’s since gone on to host Next Level Chef, which premiered in 2022. Ramsay was reportedly worth between $140 and $175 million in 2016. As of 2023, his estimated net worth has grown to $220 million, but there’s no way to say what it is for sure.
According to the British financial website This Is Money, Ramsay’s restaurant group “reported record revenues of £78.9m ($96 million USD) for the 12 months ending August 2022, up from £26.2m ($31.9 million USD) the year prior.” The outlet also reported that the pandemic predictably greatly hindered his businesses and forced his restaurants to cut hundreds of jobs. During the pandemic, the group’s were as high as £6.5m ($7.9 million USD). “Before Covid, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants recorded revenues of £55m ($66.9 million USD),” This Is Money reported.
Ramsay’s food empire seems to always be expanding. In 2017 he opened up a Hell’s Kitchen-themed restaurant in Las Vegas, which pulled in 12,000 bookings in a matter of days. In 2020, he opened his first Street Burger location in London, and in 2021 he launched a line of California wines. He also opened a culinary school, The Gordon Ramsay Academy, in the U.K. in September 2021.
