Who is Francesca Bridgerton married to?
Francesca Bridgerton married John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin. However, their romance was short-lived as tragedy struck the young couple shortly after their wedding.
John fell seriously ill and died suddenly, leaving Francesca a widow. She then found comfort in the arms of John’s cousin, Michael Stirling, who had a secret crush on her.
After developing a relationship, Francesca began a romantic relationship with Michael and the couple married.
After her first husband John Stirling died suddenly, Francesca eventually found comfort in Michael Stirling and the pair married, making it her second marriage.
This season sees Hannah Dodd, 28, take on the role of Francesca Bridgerton, after actress Ruby Stokes, 23, had to leave the show due to ‘scheduling conflicts’.
Speaking of her new character Francesca, Hannah told Tudum: “She definitely has an innocence to her.
“The new girls are so young. Even though they’ve been preparing for these moments all their lives, you can’t fake a ball or having suitors come up to you who you’ve never met before. You don’t know how those conversations are going to go.”
Hannah continued: “She’s not against it. She’s going to these balls. She’s trying to find a husband.
“I think the difference is she’s not excited about it. She doesn’t spend her whole life dreaming about what her wedding day will be like and what her husband will be like. She just knows that it’s her time and this is part of life, and here we go.”
