Who is Mouch on Chicago Fire?
Senior Firefighter Randall “Mouch” McHolland has been a staple on the NBC drama since he first appeared as a recurring character in the show’s first season.
Mouch, portrayed by actor Christian Stolte, was upgraded to a series regular in season two and has become a fan favorite over the years.
As one of the show’s senior firefighters, Mouch serves as the legal advisor and union representative for Firehouse 51.
His nickname is a portmanteau of “man” and “couch,” a playful nod to his favorite “activity.”When not on a call in Truck 81, Mouch is often seen sitting in the firehouse’s lounge, watching TV.
In the show’s fourth season, Mouch marries Chicago P.D.’s Sergeant Trudy Platt.
Portrayed by Amy Morton, Platt is the desk sergeant at District 21, and the immediate superior of the district’s patrol officers.
Both Platt and Mouch regularly appear on each other’s shows, with Stolte making guest appearances on Chicago P.D., and Morton starring in the occasional Chicago Fire episode.
