Why the Virgin River Season 5 Release Is Hotly Anticipated

Everyone is impatiently waiting for the premiere of Virgin River Season 5 in September of this year. This is one of the best series that Netflix currently has, and it’s expected that Season 5 will resolve several questions left over from the last season.

This series, starring Alexandra Breckenridge, tells the story of Mel Monroe, who works as a birthing specialist in the town of Virgin River. As she tries to overcome painful memories of the past, she must learn to adapt to the complicated situations in this town and everything this new place brings to her life.

What We Know About Virgin River Season 5 So Far

The filming of the fifth season of Virgin River was scheduled to take place in March 2022. However, it was delayed four months, so it was carried out in July. It ended in November last year. The delay caused the release date to be postponed. But, Netflix has already confirmed at Tudum that the new season will finally be on-screen on September 7, 2023. The new season of the TV show will have 12 episodes, just like the fourth season. A sixth season of this series is also expected.

Filming took place in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, for the more remote location scenes, just like in previous seasons. Many viewers have always wondered if the city of Virgin River really exists. The answer is no, as the city is a completely fictional place. In fact, the author of the books that have been adapted to make this series, Robyn Carr, indicated that she wasn’t inspired by any particular real place for the creation of the city in his story.

For Season 5 of Virgin River, the entire cast is expected to return. This includes Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole), Paige Lassiter (Michelle Logan), Melissa Montgomery (Barbara Pollard), Denny Cutler (Kai Bradbury) and John “Preacher” Middleton (Colin Lawrence). The character we aren’t sure about is Ricky (Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey). In the fourth season he left town to go to the army, which could explain his absence.

What Could Happen in Season 5
There aren’t many details about the plot of Virgin River Season 5. What is true is that the topic of Charmaine’s babies will be something very heavy. Besides that, many actors and the people in charge of directing and producing the series indicate that Season 5 is going to have a lot of intensity and that they’re going to surpass the episodes of the previous seasons.

Likewise, Denny is also going to have a lot of prominence in the upcoming episodes due to the revelation of his condition, Huntington’s disease. Brie also confronts her abusive ex, Don, which could go in many directions. Also, Vince’s possible death is expected to be addressed, and whether Preacher could have truly ended his life. Finally, the plot is going to revolve around the developing relationship between Mel and Jack, their son on the way, and their possible wedding.

Who Is the Father of Charmaine’s Twins?
Viewers are anxiously awaiting the premiere of this season to find out who the father of Charmaine’s twins is. What is known is that they are not Jack’s, as she told him so herself in Season 4. This happens when Jack and Mel went to her house to help her with a medical emergency. In the middle of the situation, Charmaine tells them that she’s “being punished” through karma, revealing that she lied about Jack’s involvement with her pregnancy.

Fans are wondering what was the reason she lied about the paternity of her children, and hopefully, this fifth season will solve the mystery. On the other hand, Mel’s baby is indeed Jack’s, so Jack is indeed going to be a dad, even if it isn’t to Charmaine’s twins.
