Will Ridge Choose Brooke or Taylor? Thorsten Kaye Dives Into The Bold and the Beautiful’s Explosive Love Triangle

The December 13 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful leaves fans on the edge of their seats as Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) faces the fallout of a bitter confrontation with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). With tensions running high after the corporate coup led by Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), the fate of Ridge and Brooke’s iconic relationship hangs in the balance.

A Coup That Shakes the Foundation

The dramatic takeover of Forrester Creations by Hope and Carter has left Ridge seething. Hope’s bold power play—retaliation for the Forresters’ decision to cancel her Hope for the Future line—has rocked the family business. Ridge is quick to point fingers, blaming Hope for manipulating Carter into joining her scheme.

“To have someone you trust take advantage of you for personal gain is a tough pill to swallow,” Thorsten Kaye explains. “Ridge believes Hope pushed Carter into this. First, she messed with [his son] Thomas, and now she’s gone after Carter. For Ridge, it’s about loyalty, and this feels like the ultimate betrayal.”

Brooke’s Loyalty Tested

While Brooke initially backed Ridge in condemning Carter and Hope, their unity crumbled when Ridge’s frustration boiled over into harsh words about her daughter. “It’s not easy for Brooke to hear Ridge insult Hope, even in the heat of the moment,” Kaye admits. “I tried to play it as frustration, but it’s still a cruel thing to say about someone’s child.”

Yet, according to Kaye, the tension between Ridge and Brooke goes deeper. The real breaking point? Ridge’s rekindling connection with ex-wife Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig).

“Brooke stands by Ridge even after his outburst, but Taylor’s presence becomes too much for her,” Kaye observes. “Taylor represents something stable and honest in Ridge’s life, and Brooke knows that.”

Taylor’s Return: A New Chapter for Ridge?

Taylor, now portrayed by Rebecca Budig, is once again stirring up feelings in Ridge. “As an actor, you have to believe there’s always a chance,” Kaye shares. “In this moment, Ridge sees Taylor as someone who’s always been honest and has no ulterior motives. She’s a contrast to the complications of his life with Brooke.”

The chemistry between Kaye and Budig stems from their history on All My Children, where they shared the screen briefly as Zach Slater and Greenlee Smythe. “Working with Rebecca is a treat,” Kaye says. “She brings a grounded energy to Taylor that’s refreshing.”

What’s Next for Ridge, Brooke, and Taylor?

While Ridge’s connection with Taylor grows, his feelings for Brooke remain undeniable. “Ridge and Brooke have an intense love, but maybe love isn’t enough anymore,” Kaye muses. “He feels betrayed by Brooke and wonders if he ever truly knew her. Meanwhile, Taylor offers him a different kind of peace—one without the messy history.”

As Kaye celebrates 11 years as Ridge on December 13, he reflects on his time with the show. “It’s a fun job,” he says with a smile. “We laugh a lot, and the cast really looks out for one another. John McCook [Eric Forrester] sets the tone—after 37 years, he still loves what he does, and it’s inspiring.”

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ultimate Love Triangle

Will Ridge stay loyal to Brooke despite their latest rift, or is Taylor the woman he’s destined to be with? One thing is certain: fans won’t want to miss a single moment as this gripping love triangle unfolds.
