‘Yellowstone’ Season 5, Part 2 Release Date Finally Revealed—Is Kevin Costner Returning?

After strikes, production delays, and a media frenzy surrounding its star, Paramount Network has finally announced the release date for the second season of Yellowstone, the fifth and final season of Yellowstone. Yellowstone is a contemporary Western drama from Paramount Network created by Taylor Sheridan (Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown). The series centers on the Duttons, owners of Montana’s largest ranch, and follows the family’s struggle to protect their land from developers, Indian reservations, political rivals, and other threats. Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, and more star.

Last May, Paramount announced that Yellowstone would end after Season 5. The network also revealed that it had greenlit two spinoff series, 1994 and 2024, to join its growing slate—which already includes 1883, 1923, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and the upcoming 6666. Matthew McConaughey is in talks to star in one of the upcoming spinoff series, potentially bringing some of the original cast into the new show. However, it’s unknown if that will still happen.
Filming on the fifth and final season of Yellowstone began in May. Costner told People in June that he would be open to returning to finish the series—but only under certain conditions. “I’ve always felt like… It might be an interesting time to come back and finish this modern family myth,” the Horizon star explained. “And if that happens, I’ll be involved if I’m okay with the way it’s done.”

Yellowstone will return regardless of whether Costner is involved. That’s when the final series will premiere on Paramount.

The final episodes will premiere the following day, November 11, in the UK, and will have a late November release date in Latin America, Brazil, and France.

Season 5 of Yellowstone is split into two parts. The first eight episodes will air from November 2022 to January 2023, while the second part will premiere on November 10 on Paramount.
