Young Sheldon star “wasn’t invited” to join sequel

Young Sheldon star Raegan Revord has claimed she “wasn’t invited” to join the show’s sequel.

The Big Bang Theory spin-off will end its run at the end of season 7, much to the devastation of fans, but the tale of the Coopers will live on through a sequel to the series following Sheldon’s older brother Georgie.

However, one Young Sheldon star won’t be joining them and that’s Revord, who starred as Missy Cooper in the comedy show. The revelation came via an Instagram post from Georgie actor Montana Jordan, celebrating the news of the CBS sequel.

Revord congratulated the actor, commenting: “Couldn’t have happened to a better person! Wishing you all the best over there, brother.”

However, when asked by fans if she would also be part of the cast, she responded: “Wasn’t invited. I’ll be cheering for Montana though!”

In a statement confirming the spin-off, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said: “It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family, and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy.
“Chuck [Lorre] and both Steves [Molaro and Holland] have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily [Osment]. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”

With Young Sheldon coming to a close in a few months, we will see some of the bittersweet moments of Sheldon’s life including moving to CalTech as well as the death of his father George Sr.
